I felt very safe with her choices and she did an amazing job at finding people I would have fun things in common with. I decided to stick with my first match because she was so spot on. I can’t tell you how unpleasant dating apps are for successful women over 40 in LA (utterly exhausting and dangerous). Cori made dating fun again. It is a little more pricey than matchmaker apps and some of the high volume services I explored, but in my experience well worth it, especially as a woman. I appreciate all of the hard work that has gone into helping me and the fun phone calls between dates so that my matchmaker can get to know me better. I looked at the 1 star reviews and really get the sense the reviewers were not taking advantage of the matchmakers by keeping in touch, and that there’s some mental health stuff going on for them. Being of the ‘advanced age’ group, and newly divorced, I quickly realized that dating apps were no match for my style. LA Singles, Cori and Laury, provided the sense of safety and optimism that I was hoping for. Cori at the ‘intake’ allowed me to be myself and be ‘seen’. In mid-2019, I skeptically went into a high floor office at their Wilshire Blvd location and had about a 2hr interview session with an incredibly nice matchmaker named Cori; hoping that at least I’d get good practice dating with the 6 matches they promised to line up. I could never have imagined that matchmakers Lisa, Paulina, and Cori could have done such a great job matching me up though. It has been almost a year into my new relationship and we’re now living together…and already making long term plans for our future.
The dating process is that they call you and describe about 2-6 people over the phone to you, you pick 2 that interest you most, and they email you a one page picture-less letter about the client (likes/dislikes, hobbies, etc…) with first name only and phone number. There are no photos; which scared me at first, but they listen to you when you tell them what you find attractive and what you don’t. It’s on the man to make the call. The matchmakers were great at giving me advice on how to make introductions (which helped a lot because I hadn’t dated in 7yrs since my 9yr ex-fiancé cheated on me.) Having a real life matchmaker to talk to vs a dating app helped a lot. It only took 3 tries before they found my match; I never even used my other 3 dates! I went on an administrative HOLD to my account and they gave me no issues at all when I requested to cancel; they actually were ecstatic and happy for us….which is the whole point!
For anybody who would rather spend a portion of their tax return like I did at an opportunity to find true love than trying to buy something stupid like a new HD TV, I HIGHLY recommend them!!! I can’t say enough about my positive experience with them.
